Emphasizing that truth must be unveiled and perpetrators brought to justice, Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) Vanni District Member of Parliament Durairaja Ravikaran urged the government to fully cooperate with an international judicial investigation into the Chemmani massacres and all historical atrocities committed against the Tamil people.

Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday during the debate on regulations under the Import and Export Control Act, the lawmaker asserted that only an independent international probe can ensure accountability for genocidal crimes.

Detailing the ongoing excavations at the Chemmani mass grave, MP Ravikaran highlighted that on the 54th day of the third phase of digging, 10 additional skeletal remains were identified and eight were fully exhumed.

"To date, a total of 572 human skeletal remains have been identified at the Chemmani mass grave site, with 565 successfully exhumed," Ravikaran informed the House. "As excavation continues, more remains of Tamil victims are unearthed—sparing neither children, women, nor the elderly."

He pointed out that forensic evidence recovered from the site includes infant feeding bottles and children's school bags. "What crime did these infants, school children, and mothers commit? Were they bearing arms?" he questioned, adding that the perpetrators and the political leadership of that era must face international judicial scrutiny to fulfill the expectations of victimized families.

The MP also drew attention to the recent conclusion of the "Cry for Justice - 02" eternal flame protest campaign in Jaffna, where Tamil people from the North and East rallied in a major demonstration demanding an international inquiry into the Chemmani massacres and other killings.

Directing his appeal to the current administration, Ravikaran stated, "I request the present leadership to understand the deep pain and suffering of our people. Take concrete steps to facilitate an international judicial investigation, extend your full cooperation to the process, and ensure that those responsible for the genocide of Tamils are duly punished."
